Read the resolution against Rep. Joe Wilson

Rep. Joe Wilson
The text of the resolution disapproving of the outburst by Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., during President Obama's speech:
Whereas on September 9, 2009, during the joint session of Congress convened pursuant to House Concurrent Resolution 179, the President of the United States, speaking at the invitation of the House and Senate, had his remarks interrupted by the Representative from South Carolina, Mr. Wilson; and whereas the conduct of the Representative from South Carolina was a breach of decorum and degraded the proceedings of the joint session, to the discredit of the House:
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the House of Representatives disapproves of the behavior of the Representative from South Carolina, Mr. Wilson, during the joint session of Congress held on September 9, 2009.

He definitely deserves censure. Trying to bring the crazy town hall behavior into a Joint Session is deplorable. It proves that Wilson lacks proper respect for the government and the people he represents.

Who cares...as of last November I no longer recognize the United States of America as sovereign nation.

I agree. Let's remove free speech. Even though I believe this was a very bad judgement call on Wilson's part. I don't want him, me or you to sacrace out free speech. John Admams tried this, and thank God for Thomas Jefferson for stopping it. Let's hope someone is man enough to stand up to Governement and demand our first amendment NOT be taken away form us.

You want to stop this behavior, remove the 1st amendment from our constitution.

I guess it was ok to boo Bush and act a fool while he was in office. A double standard without a doubt. In two weeks I'll be living in Casper Wyoming. Free and white, the land of brotherhood and limited if any thugs.

What he did was no worse than the Dems did when President Bush was giving an address. They would boo and interupt him. Let it go. Besides, he was correct...it was a lie.

Anon@ 4:50 Don't be made because your repub dogs don't have any ideas. Maybe if you'll stop trying to make President Obama look bad and use what litte brains you have thinking for a change you might come up with some ideas for a change. If not just sit back and enjoy the ride because a real President is in the White House!

It's funny how pointless all this is. It's not even a censure, it's 'dissapproval.' It is a waist of time and exactly what the President said should not happen. I find it facinating how the House Democrats continue to do things to prove to the American people what a mistake voting Democrat can be.

At least he had the courage to stand up and say something for the people he represents. Sure it was distasteful in the manner in which he "disrupted" the session, but if you venture to Raleigh or Columbia or DC and catch a glimps of session, you would understand why our nation is the way it is. Truthfully, Rep. Wilson outrage caused enough of a stir with the bill that the part where he yelled out has been changed. I think he should be applauded for 1.) caring enough to make a stand for his people and 2.) not being a push over like so many other corrupt politions.

All people of SC DO NOT Agree with Joe Wilson. Never have and never will agree with him when it comes to childish behavior that he displays. He needs to be censured!

I am sure this move by congress will help Joe Wilson's re-election fund. I am not in his district, but I plan to contribute to his campaign. Obama did lie and I am glad he was called on it. Wilson seems to be the only person in congress with any balls.

Ummmm, When are they going to get around to censuring Harry Reid for calling W a liar?

Anonymous said...

TruthSeeker you need to do you own research Obama didn't lie and the CO prove that point last week. He won't get re-elected! He was totally disrespectful. Find something better to do with your money.

Wilson has raised over $1 million since the "episode" FYI.

I certainly don't agree with the manner in which Wilson handled himself, but the way the democratic congressional leadership has been backtracking from "censure" to "admonish" and pulling the language granting coverage to illegal aliens that Wilson was calling out from the bill has been comedy at its finest.

Joe will need alot more than 1 million! He is a true @sshole!

You see anyone breaking out a box box Kleenex? See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.

As for Joe Wilson, we can still have freedom of speech and have freedom of the consequences. He put put in mouth, we put stamp on his congressional record. Everybody happy!

Joe simply stated the facts. We'll see it soon enough.

President didn't lie, he said the bill I sign (not the bills in the House or Senate draft of health care) The President used the term many times, "the bill I sign". Also look at the rules for behavior in the congress. Wilson broke the rules.
