Ted Nugent says gun-control laws amount to "cruel indecency and forced victimization."
In a decidedly politically incorrect column in The Washington Times ahead of Friday's opening of the NRA convention in Charlotte, the rock star and well-known gun-rights supporter says that "the inescapable truth — as FBI crime reports and numerous law enforcement and academic studies conclude — is that more guns clearly equal less crime."
He continues:
Where there are more guns per capita, violent crime goes down, particularly crimes of assault, such as rape, burglary and robbery. This is good. This is what the NRA stands for. Anti-gunners, not so much.
Nugent criticizes "gun-free zones," calling them "guaranteed slaughter zones, where the most innocent lives are lost every time."
The choice is clear, he says:
Gun control as forced by the Chuck Schumers and Michael Bloombergs of the world is complicit in every violent crime committed. Conversely, gun control a la Ted Nugent is putting the second shot through the same hole as the first shot, where innocent lives are saved and recidivistic maggots come to a screeching halt, felled by the lovely ballet of good over evil we call the "Double Tap Center Mass Boogie." Learn it, know it, love it, shoot it. Good guys should live, bad guys, not so much.
Nugent is scheduled to speak to CNN at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Friday about the opening of the NRA convention in Charlotte.
Update: From Ted's blog:
Correspondent Carol Costello interviews Ted on what to expect from his highly anticipated appearance at this year’s convention in Charlotte. Ted also discusses recent legislation and more.Tune in at 6 am EDT, and again at 8 am EDT and watch Ted stick to his guns!
"The Nuge" will lead a seminar at the convention at 12:30 p.m. Sunday titled "We the People." He'll sign autographs and books afterward in the Charlotte Convention Center.

I don't consider that a politically incorrect statement, but this is the Charlotte Observer and lets ignore the facts and truth and call it incorrect.
Why doesn't the Observer consider FACTUALLY correct and POLITICALLY correct to be the same thing?
Nugent has FBI data on his side. What do Jim Morrill and Mark Johnson and the other pantywaists at the Disturber have? Intellectual constipation.
Ted Nugent for president!
You have to admit that in those Gun Free Zones, and a lot of crime challenged neighborhoods, you will find the population putting up bars and putting themselves in voluntary confinement.
This leaves the Criminal Element the opportunity to focus on those who wander the streets or public transit.
Does not sound like the America we all know does it?
Finally, someone with some common sense.
No one has ever accused Ted Nugent of being subtle or reluctant to express his opinion.
He is, after all, the one who sang(?) such classic ditties as Cat Scratch Fever and Wang Dang, Sweet Poontang.
Palin and Nugent for office... You better hide anti's because you will be removed from society like you should be.
If Nugent is representative of where the conservatives are, then you are in worse shape than even I could have hoped for. You could put his sense and Palin's in the same thimble and still have room for your thumb.
Nugent/Palin 2012. This guy is as funny as Sarah.
Hey Anonymous, you don't really think that Morrill is ever going to print anything other than his obvious one sided (LEFT SIDED) opinion. The observer really have some big ONES, to consider him a journalist. He's really nothing more than a "Letter to the Editor Contributor" Can anyone really take anything he say seriously.
Ted Nugent avoided going to Viet Nam when he was drafted by deliberately failing his physical exam. He stopped bathing for a month and stopped using the bathroom for several days prior. He was very proud when the examining physicial sent him home in disgust. He still seems proud and willing to capitalize on being disgusting. This whole NRA event was about a bunch of has-beens trying to stay relevent to those ignorant enough to proclaim Ted Nugent for President.
Nugent/Palin 2012 = total victory for Democratic party. Go for it!
Ted Nugent makes valid points although he is a little too frank for most people. Are you whiners aware that no NRA member (using data from 1995 to present) has shot and killed a police officer? Anywhere in the United States. gangs in LA have blown this stat away. And yes they have guns but NO they are not going to spend money on registereing them as they are almost always stolen. This is a fact from info collected by law enforcement and FBI stats. He has a point that RESPONSIBLE gun ownership works.
Yet again, another example of the Charlotte Observer's liberal bent.
I challenge the Observer to dissect the FBI's own data that shows those states where 'Shall Issue' and CCW's are allowed have actually caused crime to go down! Of course we know, that ain't gonna happen....
