Federal indictment: A look at MS-13 gang

Security is extremely tight this morning at the federal courthouse in Charlotte's uptown, for the start of the trial of several members of the MS-13 gang.

Here is the federal indictment, filed June 23, 2008.

Read the indictment (.pdf)

In its 86 pages, the indictment details charges against  26 men arrested during a crackdown on MS-13.

Among the allegations: "At all times relevant to this indictment, members of MS-13 engaged in criminal activity including drug distribution, murders, assaults, robberies, and obstructing justice in the form of threatening and intimidating witnesses ..."

Explain to me how these filthy animals deserve a "fair trial". Were any of the victims of this scum given a "fair trial"? A wink and a nod from the Judge to the DA and ship these pieces of excrement for immediate execution of sentence - at the end of a rope.

How many, if any, of these folks are here legally? The first section of the indictment calls them immigrants, but does not differentiate if they are here legally or not. Either way, we (the taxpayers) are going to pay to house these criminals. If they are illegal, they should be tagged and shipped out of the country without any further consideration.

Deportation will not solve the problem. MS-13 originally formed among Central American immigrant communities in Los Angeles over twenty years ago. During the 1990's, the feds thought they could rid themselves of problematic gangster by deporting them back to Central America. Unfortunately, the gangs flourished there, and now there are thousands of MS-13 members in El Salvador. Thanks to the continuously porous borders, the Central America and US branches of MS-13 can freely exchange personnel and information.
