What's Celgard all about?

President Obama is coming to Charlotte Friday tour the Celgard plant near Carowinds.

Celgard has been among the most prominent examples of the green-energy jobs that Charlotte's economic development leaders hope to expand. The company makes porous membranes for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries used in notebook computers, digital cameras and other devices.

The company has operations in Charlotte, France, China, Japan and South Korea.

Here's a .pdf overview of Celgard, from the company's Website.

It depends how you look at it. They help in creation of billions of batteries that are very hard to dispose of and can hardly be recycled. They usually end up in landfills in China or India

What information on the 'difficulty' of recycling lithium batteries are you referring to? You make a statement without any support. You apparently just want to be negative (pun intended)because this was a positive article, yes?

It appears, Mr. Anonymous, you have been caught making stuff up. Shame on you!

And google 'lithium battery recycling'. You'd be surprised that it is easy!
